Jane Art

About Jane Art

Primarily inspired by nature in all it’s manifestations, from the cosmos to the minute, from the physical through the emotional to the spiritual. Jane expresses this in a wide variety of media. Presently choosing to play with ink, acrylic and pastel, often with the aid of music, which can feed into the piece being created and also back out to inspire the musician (as in ‘Goddess’) she is interested in the healing quality of the process of making art, along with the connection to divinity and being fully in the moment, which has contributed to the intensity, vibrancy and abstraction in her current work.

A Haworth based artist, practising around Yorkshire and Lancashire, Jane gained A level Art at Burnley College, Foundation Art and Design at Blackburn College, HND 3D Art and Design (Multi- Area) at Portsmouth College of Art/Polytechnic, and studied Fine Art for a further 2 years at Hull University. Originally concerned with Environmental themes, she produced some small scale pieces of land art, before taking time out to bring up her 2 children, while painting and drawing when there was time.
Over the last 4-5 years she has been painting, drawing and exhibiting around the local area, delivering workshops for young adults with special needs and children at festivals. She has helped to co ordinate the Art Trail for Haworth Festival for the last 3 years and is currently in partnership with Andrew Wood opening Pied Piper Pianos and Gallery, collaborating with local musicians to deliver ‘Muse’ workshops. Since the new year, her ‘Spread the Love project has taken her running across the hills, leaving a trail of tiny ceramic hearts for people to find…
Jane is open to commissions, workshops, exhibiting or any other creative ventures…
